We welcome parents and children from every country

We have many families at our preschool with one or more guardians from outside Sweden, many from across Europe and even as far as South America or New Zealand. It is always a delight to hear your child coming home and teaching you a new word they learnt in another language or teaching you how to samba!

We are lucky to have the opportunity to enrich our children’s perspective and understanding of other cultures with our diverse backgrounds. We regularly read books in other languages, especially those where our current children origin from. The older children at the preschool present their origin country to the other children and show pictures, films, sing songs, teach them a few words, serve them specific food from the country and everyone draws the country’s flags and many more things!

There are still places available for children of all ages wishing to start autumn 2023.

Parent about svanen

About Svanen

“The best preschool in the world!”

If you ask our children and parents. The preschool is beautifully located in Älta, far from traffic and with the Nacka reserve as the nearest neighbor. The preschool is a parent cooperative inspired by Montessori pedagogy.

We want to give the children affection and stability so that they can be curious, show them respect so that they gain a strong sense of self and create joy and creativity so that the children gain knowledge and understanding about themselves and the world.

At Montessoriförskolan Svanen you will get:

  • Pedagogues who see and encourage the children!
  • Montessori – for children’s development and learning
  • Friendly community – Parents, pedagogues and children help each other
  • The nature reserve right outside the gate
  • Our own chef who prepares good and organic food

Parents in our cooperative help the preschool and get the opportunity to influence the preschool. 2 times per month you clean the preschool – or hire our cleaning firm, 2 times per month you will be on our on call-schedule but usually it wont be necessary, normally only around 0-2 times per year. We have 2 cleaning occasions per year when we all together clean the preschool. You get to be part of the board or a group, for instance Hedge & Cut, Info & Recruit, Outdoorfix, Indoorfix, IT, Party & Wellbeing. All parents, pedagogues and children help each other and you will be part of a great community.

You give a little of your time – and in return you get the best preschool for you and your child!

We have the lowest number of children per teacher in the whole of Älta, so we can see and take care of each child – it gives great stability and happy children.

Every child is important to us!

“Great personal interactions with the pedagogues and other parents. Extremely competent pedagogues with the best commitment.
